The Alchemy of Anger: A somatic exploration of THE potent space between repression and possession (Online)
Join me for a webinar where we will experience an embodied exploration of anger that will lead us to deeper parts of our Selves.
Learn a framework of how to relate to your anger as information and wisdom about your unconscious shadow states (AKA complexes) while also harnessing the heat of anger to access more life force, agency, dignity, and courage to create boundaries in relationships. We often move between opposites when it comes to anger: either repression with its costs to our vitality and well-being or possession when we feel overcome in states of rage. There is something in the middle where the alchemy of emotion for increasing consciousness and vitality lives.

A RECORDING WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE.
“Emotion is the alchemical fire whose warmth brings everything into existence and whose heat burns all superfluities to ashes....emotion is the moment when steel meets flint and a spark is struck forth, for emotion is the chief source of consciousness. There is no change from darkness to light or from inertia to movement without emotion.”
C.G. Jung CW 9i para 179
What we will explore:
1) The difference between having anger and being anger based on C.G. Jung’s complex theory so we can act more skilfully in response to this powerful emotion.
2) How making anger a conscious embodied experience can break through feelings of being stuck in habituated survival patterns.
3) How to dialogue with anger via somatic practices, active imagination and creative expression.
4) How to build feelings of dignity and worth by taking the heat of this emotion to ‘thaw’ out parts of our bodies and psyches.

SOMATICS OF MONEY: Understanding our relationship with money through a somatic depth psychology lens
Unlock the intelligence of your body for a more prosperous and conscious relationship with money….from a Jungian Analyst with both a somatic orientation and a business degree.

If you can’t attend live, a recording will be sent to you within 24 hours.
As the Jungian analyst James Hillman wrote in his 1982 essay, A Contribution to Soul and Money: “Money problems are inevitable, necessary, irreducible, always present, and potentially if not actually overwhelming. Money is devilishly divine.”
Money is symbolic of psychic energy, and how we relate to receiving psychic energy or offering psychic energy is emblematic of how we relate to nourishment in our lives.
We will explore our conscious and unconscious relationship with money through our body and physiological responses and through embodied active imagination to map out our individual money complex. Money is often in people’s shadows and is something that will inevitably be tied to past relational or developmental trauma, power dynamics and access to basic survival resources.
Our somatic experience of money might not be conscious, while our bodies can lead the way into a deeper exploration of how money as a symbol can lead us away or towards more vitality.
This webinar is perfect for entrepreneurs and self-employed people tired of feeling stuck, tired of playing small and wanting to harness the intelligence of their body via their nervous system to go from a state of scarcity or fear around money to finding confidence and courage to tackle hard things and follow your instincts.
Understanding what has kept you in the muck of the complexity of money is a critical step in setting yourself free of the shackles that bind you. And you’ll learn body-based tools and strategies to create new neural pathways to shift what was stuck to fierce and brave energy in your work.

Intuitive Movement and the Creative Instinct
Cost: $39 plus applicable taxes
If you can't attend live, a recording will be provided. In this intuitive movement practice, we will explore giving up conscious control of our movement as a top-down experience to allow our e-motions or the Self to move our bodies from the inside out. Our creative imagination can be harnessed through what is referred to as motor imagination so that we can dialogue with our unconscious psyche via the body through movement practice to various types of music and tempo. In this practice, we aim to support the process of sparking a connection between our creative instinct and our bodies and to initially give it shape through movement practice. There will be some theory of the neurobiology of creativity via a Jungian lens to frame the practice.
This particular event will be focused on exploring creativity via intuitive movement. Whatever medium you are wanting to explore including writing, painting, drawing, music creation or sculpting, it is suggested you have these materials on hand for after the movement practice.
Space is limited. After payment is made, please give us 48 hours to send you a Zoom meeting link confirmation.

Somatics of Dream Interpretation
“ The dream shows the inner truth and reality of the patient as it really is: not as I conjecture it to be, and not as they would like it to be, but as it is.” C.G. Jung
REGISTER NOW
Join me for an introductory workshop exploring my alchemical practice of weaving somatics together with Jungian dream interpretation. Harnessing the alchemical intersection of soma and psyche during dream interpretation can provide greater potential for recovery for trauma survivors. Jungian dream interpretation can be an essential doorway into the self-regulating function of the psyche, something deeply needed by anyone living with the prolific psychic injuries that trauma can imprint. Dream work is not something widely discussed in the trauma recovery zeitgeist and is the focus of my thesis.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Basic concepts in Jungian dream interpretation.
How to use dreams to open ourselves to healing potential via the body via a teleological lens versus a trauma model primarily focused on causality.
How to use body sensations that are activated in dreams to move us towards a more expansive awareness of what our body is trying to lead us into greater awareness of our unconscious psyche.
Using portals in dreams to provide new opportunities to shift habituated nervous system states.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Anyone who dreams and is curious about working with their own dreams through a somatic lens.
Any therapists who work with dreams and would like to be introduced to somatics in dream work.
PREPARATION FOR THE WORKSHOP
Bring one of your dreams to work with and consider during our time together.
Space is limited. After payment is made, please give us 48 hours to send you a Zoom meeting link confirmation.
Refund policy: Should you wish to cancel your enrolment in a training, you will receive a refund as follows:

Embodied Active Imagination
“Active imagination requires a state of reverie, half-way between sleep and waking.” C.G. Jung
In this 3-hour workshop, enjoy an introduction to the Jungian practice of active imagination with my somatic expertise woven into our practice. Embodied active imagination is one of the key pillars in Jungian Somatics, my body of work that bridges depth psychology and somatics. This practice can encourage us relate to our bodies with greater curiosity and wonder.
If you can’t tune in live, you will receive a link to the recording within 24 hours that you can download and keep.
WHAT IS ACTIVE IMAGINATION:
In active imagination, you are awake, conscious, and actively opening to and relating to your unconscious and one or some of its contents. An active imagination, is an imaginative event, where both conscious and unconscious meet. For Jung, the great benefit of active imagination is to “distinguish ourselves from the unconscious contents”.
FORMAT:
The workshop will start with a foundation of theory to root us within a structured framework and transition into movement practice to prepare our bodies and psyches. Accessibility needs will be factored into the movement practice. We will then engage in a personal active imagination practice and then spend time in small groups reflecting on what we each created from a symbolic point of view.

Introduction to Jungian Somatics: The relationship between the body and the unconscious psyche
SOLD OUT
“The separation of psychology from the premises of biology is purely artificial, because the human psyche lives in indissoluble union with the body…So what is the body? The body is merely the visibility of the soul, the psyche; and the soul is the psychological experience of the body.”
C.G. Jung
$59 Canadian dollars plus applicable taxes
In this 2.5 workshop, be introduced to a body of work, Jungian Somatics I’ve been developing over the last several years. We will explore why I felt it was imperative for me to understand the structure and function of the psyche through a Jungian depth psychology lens. After specializing in harnessing the intelligence of the body while supporting people living with shock or complex trauma histories, it became acutely clear that the body does not have all the answers and that in working only with the body, I was limited in what I could offer clients whose suffering is tenacious and prolific.
Key concepts you will be introduced to:
How exploring the body through a symbolic lens opens doors to the unconscious psyche.
How nervous system theory need to include an understanding of the structure of the psyche.
How I’ve woven in somatic awareness and practices into psychoanalytic practice.
Why searching for answers to our suffering in the body can be limited and sometimes make people feel more ‘broken’.
Why the concept of releasing trauma conflicts with the structure of the psyche and depth psychology knowledge.
I have been an embodiment and trauma educator and movement coach with over 20 years of clinical experience. I’m now an advanced candidate training with the Ontario Association of Jungian Analysts offering psychoanalysis/psychotherapy under supervision. I welcome you to open up doors to more questions about your understanding of somatics if you’re a somatic practitioner and, if you’re an analyst, to shed some light on how excluding the body in psychoanalysis can limit dialogue with the unconscious psyche. This workshop might be of interest to anyone engaged in their own personal healing and therapy.
Space is limited. After payment is made, please give us 48 hours to send you a Zoom meeting link confirmation.

The Labyrinth as a Symbol in Somatic Practice

Drawing from powerful parallels between somatic practice, trauma and the power of the ancient symbol of the labyrinth, we explore how this symbol can provide guidance in our personal and professional explorations. Every symbol has polarities in it, as does every archetype. The labyrinth can be something we explore consciously or unconsciously. Something we get lost in or something, when we travel to the centre of, we find connection to the core of our Selves.
The original personal association of this symbol and my interest was sparked by looking at social media through the lens of a labyrinth and the negative polarity of this symbol, more akin to maze. Complex labyrinths (like the body) that we walk into without guidance can be something we get lost in and swallowed up by the intensity of affect or the collective unconscious. Labyrinths that we walk into with a sense of connection to greater meaning or purpose, like a tether, can be a powerful experience for each of our continued growth and evolution. The myth of Ariadne and Theseus and the Minotaur has been a powerful anchor for study and contemplation for me. Bringing the mythopoetic realm into somatics has deepened my practices and I'd like to share of small sliver of this with you.
Is the body something we get lost in both personally or collectively or is it something that guides us to our centre?
How can the symbol of the labyrinth guide us into how we relate to traumatic stress somatically?
Many more inquiries to explore through theory which will require some intellectual heavy lifting on participants' parts including some pre-reading and also through experiential somatic exercises. The balance of both of these practices are also symbolic for creating connection between the left and right hemisphere of the brain, something the labyrinth has also been thought to symbolize.
Important things to note:
Participants living with the effects of trauma and strongly encouraged to have psychotherapeutic care in place before diving deeper into this work.
This offering will be hosted on Zoom meeting format and break out rooms will be invitational.
Participants will not be required to have cameras on.
There will be some gentle movement exploration.

Sexuality and Intra-psychic Consent: The Intersection of Depth Psychology and Neurobiology
SOLD OUT
The conversation of consent is most often focused on ‘the other’ outside of our bodies and psyche yet we are often not guided into understanding the many emotional parts we carry within ourselves that might be in conflict with one another limiting our capacity to truly engage in consent with the other.
Space is limited to 20 live participants hosted in a Zoom meeting format. Live participation is required due to the sensitive nature of the content (cameras and mics off are ok) and a recording WILL NOT be provided. This is to create a safer and more contained space for everyone.
Saturday, February 5th 12-3 pm EST
Cost $149 Canadian (plus applicable taxes) per participant.
After payment is received, you will receive notification of registration within 24 hours.
Through a Jungian Somatics lens harnessing the tools of intuitive movement, active imagination and creative expression, Jane will bring the concept of consent to your inner psychic experience AKA intra-psychically, to explore the parts of you in agreement or disagreement with sharing your body and most intimate Self with others.
Is our sexual expression coming from a complex or the Self?
How does attachment trauma or cumulative relational trauma activate younger parts (or in Jungian terminology, complexes) that need to be worked with and explored in order for us to be fully present in relation with others?
When we consent to sexual experiences with other people, how do we make space to be aware of parts of our psyche that might be in conflict?
Are we engaging in sexual relationships from a fully conscious or dissociative place?
When we are sexually engaged with another, how do we notice if our social engagement system is online or if we have moved into dysregulation or persona?
What shadow parts might be driving our yes or our nos?
DISCLAIMER: Participants are encouraged to have skilled mental health or psychotherapeutic care in place before diving deeper into this work as the content can be triggering and intense, particularly if you have experienced sexual trauma. Please consult your care provider before registering for this course. This workshop is for personal exploration only and is not designed to be for professional training purposes. Pre-course reading will be sent out 3 weeks prior.
Refund policy: Should you wish to cancel your enrolment in a training, you will receive a refund as follows:

Neurobiology and Embodied Spirituality
THIS WORKSHOP IS SOLD OUT
In this 2.5-hour workshop, we will deepen neurobiological concepts such as co-regulation and the anatomical function of the vagus nerve into depth based psychological concepts (Carl Jung’s work of Jungian psychology) in understanding mystical participation and direct experience of the divine within our bodies. Bringing these concepts in and through somatic sensations and intentional communion with our immediate environment through our senses, we can discover how to live in deeper reverence for the origin of creation and a safety net we hold within our deepest Selves and our cells.
We explore the concept that vagus nerve function is also that of our soul nerve, the ego self axis in Jungian theory, expanding further than activating the parasympathetic nervous system and connecting with other human bodies but into the transpersonal realm of divinity and faith from within and around us. Ultimately, this can be a missing piece in trauma recovery work for many survivors. We will also discuss the need to strengthen ego consciousness when exploring embodied spirituality to avoid states of ego inflation AKA spiritual bypassing.

Somatic Symbolism and the Hands
“Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain.” C.G. Jung
The hand is the most frequently symbolized part of the human body for good reason. Throughout history, hands have symbolized a myriad of aspects of the human experience and express aspects of the unconscious and conscious psyche, both personal and collective. Hands are a powerful somatic tool to awaken and create dialogue between the conscious and unconscious psyche and to explore the alchemical intersection of soma and psyche.
In this 2.5-hour workshop, we will explore the multi-faceted symbolism of hands through video art, myth, religion, movement, drawing, touch, texture and writing to dialogue and awaken powerful unconscious and resourcing material within our psyches.

How can we learn to resource our challenges with the breath with archetypal imagery and energy that supports a more resourced autonomic nervous system?
How will reflexively overriding your breath with a top down corrective approach inhibit dialogue with the soma and the unconscious psyche?

Introduction to Movement Prayer - SOLD OUT
Join Jane for a Jungian Somatics exploration into how we create a personal, visceral, deeply embodied and direct experience of our own sense of the Creator, Creation, Source, the Cosmos, God, Goddess or whatever terminology resonates for you, through music as a vibration and intuitive movement. This work follows Carl Jung’s active imagination work in a specific practice of the exploration of the embodiment of faith in our physical and subtle bodies.
August 26th at 12-130 pm EST
Cost: $55 USD
Space is limited to 20 participants.
This is being offered in a Zoom meeting format which will leave the option of having your cameras on or off. There will be an optional break out room offering.
The embodiment of the religious function of the psyche is work that Jane has been exploring with clients for many years. This program is inclusive of all religious backgrounds and truly about taking prayer out of the head and into the body. Understanding how prayer can be personally redefined by each of us is a large part of the intention of this program. Prayer, in its many forms, can activate the vagus nerve, brings us back into a direct experience of the transpersonal realm and help us feel less untethered. Jane embraces the power of movement and music in her personal and clinical practice and is elated to bring this to a community format.

The Intersection of Functional Breathing and the Unconscious Psyche
Join Jennifer Snowdon and Jane Clapp in a 1 hour introduction into their combined approaches to the breath. This webinar compliments their Traumatic Stress and the Breath 4-part webinar series being offered again in June.
Jennifer and Jane will discuss the added layer of the unconscious psyche to the discussion of functional breathing to deepen the complexity of how we understand why we breathe the way we do. We often work on correcting the breath before more deeply understanding how the way we breath provides symbolic or somatic clues as to what our unconscious psyche is trying to communicate with us. Pneuma is an ancient Greek word for "breath", and in a religious context for "spirit" or "soul". This one hour will help expand on how you view the breath as an expression of the conflict between your unconscious and conscious psyche and also as the way to bridge a dialectic relationship of your ego centre and your Self.

TRAUMATIC STRESS AND THE PELVIC FLOOR: Harness pelvic health to support traumatic stress recovery
Join me and Michelle Fraser, Orthopaedic and Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, advocate and educator, for a groundbreaking webinar focused on helping you harness your pelvic health to support traumatic stress recovery, nervous system health and trauma
April 9, 16, 23, 30 at 12-1PM EST
$99 CAD
If you can’t tune-in live, you will receive a link to a recorded version within 24 hours.
Whether you are living with the effects of sexual violence, birth and/or medical trauma or even toxic or persistent stress, learning how your pelvic floor is directly impacted on a daily basis and how your pelvic health can reinforce these states from body up to brain via your autonomic nervous system is a key element of your recovery process.
Key learning.
1) Understand how traumatic, toxic and persistent stress affect pelvic health and how to recognize that there may be a physical imbalance in your pelvic floor.
2) Learn how what’s going on in your pelvic floor impacts your diaphragm and breathing biomechanics and how this relationship can keep us stuck in hypervigilance and traumatic stress.
2) Gain a fundamental understanding of how nervous system dysregulation and pelvic floor hypertonicity can lead to symptoms/pain - and how persistent pain can perpetuate the cycle of stress.
3) Become acquainted with your pelvic floor, its position as one aspect of your physical self, its relationship with the vagus nerve and its unequivocal relationship with your emotional and spiritual self via the energetic and emotional body.
4) Develop simple skills that you can use immediately to balance your pelvic floor and feel safer connecting with this often blocked or dissociated part of your body. Bring your pelvic floor into play to help invigorate a deeper sense of confidence in your body which will support greater embodied consciousness in your psyche.

Learn about the brilliance of the Polyvagal theory and how it applies to your body and your money. In our efforts to stay safer in the world in the past, we might be running on out dated ‘operating software’ that keeps us feeling helpless and frozen and need strategic tools and practices to update our nervous systems to the now. That’s where I come in. I’m here to help you break patterns of the trauma response referred to as fawn, habitual people pleasing and playing small.
I’ve had countless client success stories of unlocking the narratives people hold about money, unconsciously stored in the body, helping people dig into their own strengths to change these limitations and access life force and a sense of self worth. It’s not just about money folks.
Money is a symbol for basic survival needs and nourishment. We often live out of CONSCIOUS awareness of what this means for each of us. Relating to money through your body will help you stay true to your core self, realign with a sense of self worth and decrease the shame many of us feel when it comes to money troubles.
This 4-week course is perfect for anyone tired of feeling stuck in old patterns and stories, tired of playing small and wanting to harness the intelligence of your body via your nervous system to go from a state of scarcity or fear around money to finding confidence and courage to follow your instincts.
Strategy, Voice, Boundaries and Possibilities.
I’ve been a feminist embodied resilience coach and entrepreneur for over 20 years and am a leading expert in trauma and the body. When I learned how to move out of the fawn trauma response, my relationship with money started to heal. It’s time to bring our bodies into understanding our relationship with money. I can’t solve your money problems in a 4 week course but I promise you that understanding how your trauma history ( Big T and Little T) has kept you in the muck of money troubles is a critical step in setting yourself free of the shackles that bind you. And, you’ll learn body based tools and strategies to create new neural pathways to shift what was stuck to fierce and brave energy in your work.
All genders welcome!

Taking Up Space Through Embodied Drawing
Come into your body through mindful movement that will help you connect with your core self, from the inside out and then find the ground, covered in paper, and pick up charcoal or pastels and express your sense of personal space, and your unique voice by drawing around your whole body via movement and embodied mindfulness cues to help you tap into your unconscious. This is not about making pretty pictures or learning an art technique. This experience is to give voice to what your body needs to say through blending movement and images. Our hands can often express what our voices cannot.
Music in the background to help move you as you draw with guided meditations and compassionate inquiry. Exploring often unacceptable and powerful emotions that need to find expression so you can start to reverse your impulse to shrink, lose your voice or limit your ability to own your power out in the world. This workshop will also be a vehicle for owning personal boundaries.
Jane Clapp will lead this intimate workshop inspired by a personal understanding via a time in her life that using her body to paint was a pivotal moment in reconnecting with her Self and learning to occupy space out in the world.
Space limited to 6 people.

Embodied Boundaries for Empaths
Do you feel a bit too much like a sponge out in the world or at home? Having a huge heart while also keeping grounded in our own emotional needs, safety, wisdom and self compassion requires a level of body intelligence and psychic resilience many of us haven’t yet been taught to harness.
IF YOU CAN’T TUNE IN LIVE, YOU WILL RECEIVE A LINK TO THE RECORDED VERSION WITHIN 24 HOURS AND CAN DOWNLOAD THE WEBINARS AND KEEP THEM FOREVER.
COST $99 (Canadian dollars)
Wednesdays from 7-8PM EST
November 6, 13, 20, 27
In this four part course, I will walk you through what is at the heart of extreme empathy and why we get caught in caring or giving too much.
You will learn basic emotional/psychic body and nervous system regulation tools you can use anywhere so that you can start to have choice about what you let in, what you choose to feel coming from other people and how to use your inner GPS to better attune to your own emotional needs and safety in the world. I will also explain how spiritual bypassing often runs in direct conflict with healthier emotional boundaries.
You will also learn many strength focused mindful movement and embodied meditation tools that will increase your ability to hold healthier more sustainable emotional and energetic boundaries.
Things you will learn about:
1) How higher levels of neuroception can feel more like a superpower than something that drains us.
2) How childhood trauma or attachment deficits can make energetic boundaries more difficult and also make us much more oriented to what other people are feeling in their bodies vs. what we are feeling.
3) How we idealize empathy in our society yet lose the ability to discern between the fawn, tend and befriend or a true empathy response.
4) How your own interoception and ability to ground your own subtle body energy is absolutely key as an empath for discerning the different between codependency and true connection.
I have completed master level Reiki training and am training as a Jungian Analyst which helps me see this is about more than our physical bodies and goes deeper into realms we can’t see. I bring in a complex understanding of the intersection of consent, codependence and resilience as they exist in our bodies and psyche.
"I learned A TON in the Embodied Boundaries for Empaths series. Jane did an amazing job of bringing new information to light in an easy to understand (and feel in your body) kind of way. She posed some deeply thought provoking questions which changed how I look at myself, and how I put up and maintain boundaries. This is not your "run of the mill" workshop for empaths... instead we go way down the rabbit hole exploring and embodying what it means to be an empath with boundaries, and why we struggle with these in the first place. If you're sitting on the fence, but curious to check it out, I highly recommend it!!"

Learn how to harness mindful strength training to improve your personal window of tolerance and access a very tangible way to come into greater levels of interoception (inner body awareness).
Feel the immediate benefit of activating your upper body DIGNITY MUSCLES and inner core muscles to shift habitually held patterns of flight or collapse in your fascial system and posture.
Experience how a bottom up approach to improved physical resilience and joint stabilization can support an improved window of tolerance to stress and distress.
With simple exercises each week that gradually become more challenging, we will mainly focus on improving glute, core and back strength. You will also learn about the power of balancing exercises for improved self regulation.
