Jungian Somatics

ADVISORY

What remains unseen is already shaping what happens next.

Jungian Analyst | Shadow Consigliere

Organizations, creative projects, and the people leading them have an unconscious life.

I come into the work when intelligent, capable people have reached an impasse and the usual forms of strategy are no longer reaching what's underneath it.

As a Jungian Analyst, I've spent years studying archetypal patterns through myth, fairy tale, dreams, and symbols. I know how to notice when these patterns are taking shape in an organization, a conflict, a leader, or a creative project.

I see where the story an organization tells about itself separates from what it continues to enact. I notice when the psychology of a founder has entered the culture, when one person has been asked to carry the shadow of a group, or when an old archetypal drama is moving through a new situation.

I also look for the golden shadow: the authority, creative intelligence, and unrealized capacity that a person, project, or organization has yet to recognize as its own.

If you're facing an organizational impasse, carrying a consequential decision, developing a creative project, or looking for a speaker who can bring a Jungian and somatic perspective to your organization or community, you're welcome to get in touch.

Shadow Consigliere

A Shadow Consigliere stays close enough to understand what's happening while holding enough distance to see beyond the perspective of the people inside it.

The dark shadow may appear through recurring conflict, scapegoating, concealed aggression, inflated leadership, unconscious loyalty, or the distance between an organization's stated values and what happens in practice.

The golden shadow carries what has remained unclaimed: creative intelligence, authority, possibility, and the future trying to emerge through the person, project, or organization.

My work is to perceive the patterns that have remained out of view and give them language. Once the pattern becomes visible, something that has been circling or fixed in place can begin to move.

“The psychological rule says that when an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside, as fate.”

— C. G. Jung, Aion, CW 9ii, ¶126

Where I work

ORGANIZATIONAL SHADOW

Organizations carry the psychology of their founders, the complexes of their leaders, the pressure of their histories, and the contradictions between their values and what happens in practice.

I work with founders and leadership teams facing recurring conflict, rapid growth, cultural contradiction, leadership transition, or a loss of direction.

We explore what has been disowned, projected, idealized, or left outside the organization's conscious identity. We also look for the strengths, possibilities, and forms of authority that remain unclaimed.

CREATIVE GUIDE FOR PROJECTS

I work with writers, filmmakers, actors, authors, artists, and creative teams who want to come into closer contact with the living impulse at the centre of their work.

Together, we access the creative instinct and explore what may be interrupting it, including fear, perfectionism, persona, conflict, or collective expectation.

Through dreams, symbols, images, and archetypal patterns, we reconnect with the project's original impulse and follow what is asking to be made.

LEADERSHIP IMPASSE

Power changes the psychological field around a person. As authority and visibility increase, honest reflection can become harder to find.

I advise leaders and creatives carrying consequential decisions that remain unresolved despite thought, expertise, and effort.

An impasse may reveal that an established identity, structure, or way of holding authority has reached its limit. I help discern what is keeping the situation in place and what may already be trying to emerge through it.

Speaking and Teaching

I'm an experienced international speaker and educator working at the intersection of Jungian psychology, organizational life, creativity, and embodied mystical experience.

My current speaking work explores the unconscious life of organizations and creative projects: shadow, projection, scapegoating, founder dynamics, collective expectation, the psychological complexities of power, and what may be trying to emerge when an established identity or structure reaches its limit.

I also teach and speak about Jungian Somatics™, embodied mysticism, and the kinetic spirit: the movement of soul into material life through body, image, symbol, and creative expression.

I speak in organizational, Jungian, academic, clinical, and creative settings. A presentation may take the form of a lecture, an experiential workshop, or a combination of both.

Why a Jungian Analyst?

There are approximately 4,000 Jungian Analysts worldwide trained in accordance with the standards of the International Association for Analytical Psychology.

My own formation included hundreds of hours of personal analysis, almost 400 hours of Jungian seminars, extensive supervision, written and oral examinations, symbol papers, and a major thesis. This kind of training develops the capacity to stay with ambiguity and recognize what is constellating through image, relationship, complex, projection, and symbol.

My thesis examined social media algorithms through an archetypal lens and took my study of the unconscious into the life of technological systems and collective behaviour.

Before becoming a Jungian Analyst, I worked in human resources, labour relations, organizational development, and conflict resolution. Over more than twenty-six years, I've worked with senior leaders, artists, actors, performers, and people carrying significant creative, organizational, or public responsibility.

This range allows me to see the unconscious patterns in a situation while remaining attentive to material power, institutional structure, culture, and systemic harm.

A different order of attention

Most organizations already have considerable expertise available to them. Sometimes that expertise can't be used because an unconscious pattern is keeping the system organized around something else.

This is where I enter.

I offer confidential Jungian counsel for leaders, organizations, and creative projects when something unseen is already shaping what happens next.

How the work can take shape

Each engagement is shaped around the particular situation. The work may take the form of:

  • A confidential consultation with a founder, leader, or creative
  • A focused advisory engagement around a particular impasse
  • Ongoing counsel during organizational or creative change
  • Facilitated work with a leadership or creative team
