Bring Your Work to Life
A six-week Jungian Somatics™ group for people bringing original work into the world.
You care about what you’re creating. Yet somewhere between the original impulse and letting others encounter it, something becomes blocked or choked off. You might feel frozen and stuck with one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake.
Explore what interrupts your creative instinct and develop the capacity to let your work, voice, and presence carry more of what matters most to you.
Wednesdays, 6–8 pm ET · January 20 to February 24, 2027 · Maximum 12 participants (live online and not recorded)
$599 CAD Early Bird
Early bird rate available until December 1, 2026 — $697 CAD after.
The Situation
You know there is more you want to bring.
Perhaps your idea or project has lost its vitality, or you keep revising, anticipating criticism, or struggling to express what feels true to what first moved you.
Perhaps the work comes alive in private, but changes when you imagine an audience. You become careful, polished, or distant from the feeling that gave it meaning.
Managing how we are perceived can draw our attention away from what we want to express. Unconscious expectations, professional roles, and fears about recognition can shape what we permit ourselves to create—and what we allow others to feel.
The Invitation
Let others be moved by what moves you.
Presence begins with a living connection to why we are there: the fire in our belly, the embodied meaning of what we are offering.
Over six weeks, we will explore how to find and return to that connection, allowing more of your heart, voice, and creative instinct to enter your work.
We will attend to persona and shadow, the patterns that keep repeating, and the authority or capacity you have difficulty claiming. Together, we will explore the vulnerable strength involved in being seen while staying connected to your own ground.
The Process
Bring something you care about creating or communicating.
A manuscript or emerging idea. A performance excerpt. The opening of a talk. A teaching passage. A creative project at a threshold.
Through spontaneous movement, sound, drawing, conversation, and symbolic inquiry, we will:
- Listen for the impulse that gives your work vitality.
- Notice what happens when you imagine being seen or heard.
- Explore the expectations and unconscious patterns shaping your expression.
- Experiment with voice, presence, and form.
- Carry discoveries into your work between meetings.
Sessions combine guided experiential work, individual reflection, and opportunities to explore participants’ creative material. You choose what you share and how you participate. Unfinished work is welcome.
What You Can Develop
A connection with your work you can return to.
The aim is to develop greater freedom to create, communicate, and inhabit your own authority.
You will have opportunities to build embodied practices for returning to what matters when you prepare to write, speak, teach, perform, or share your work.
This group welcomes writers, filmmakers, actors, artists, academics, teachers, and others developing original work.
About Jane
I’m Jane Clapp, a Jungian Psychoanalyst, writer, and creator of Jungian Somatics™.
My work attends to the unconscious patterns shaping creative life: what we allow others to see and feel, what we hold back, and the capacities we find difficult to claim.
I bring experience in acting, live performance, movement, and international teaching, alongside my analytic formation and background in organizational life and conflict.
Together, we will attend to the symbolic and embodied dimensions of your situation while remaining attentive to relationships, power, resources, and the demands surrounding your work.
