SOMATIC SYMBOLISM AND THE BREATH
Join Jane for this pre-recorded webinar, an introduction to a new and complementary lens on how the breath manifests in each of our bodies as an expression of the unconscious psyche. Looking beyond somatic emotional awareness through the physical senses, we will explore a journey into the mythopoetic level of the unconscious psyche as it presents in the soma to gently dialogue with the breath as a doorway into a depth psychology inquiry.
There will be some movement practices with accessibility needs taken into account so please ensure you are wearing comfortable clothing. Please ensure you have paper and tools to write and draw.
Cost $49 Canadian plus applicable taxes
In this 2 hour workshop, questions we will explore include:
How does exploring the breath, as it is presenting in the moment, bring us into contact with symbolism, imagery and complexes that our body holds?
How can we learn to resource our challenges with the breath with archetypal imagery and energy that supports a more resourced autonomic nervous system?
How will reflexively overriding your breath with a top down corrective approach inhibit dialogue with the soma and the unconscious psyche?
This is not a trauma recovery program, is not focused on collective or personal trauma and is a specific exploration into my work, Jungian Somatics. An integrated and foundational understanding of the autonomic nervous system and neurobiology is recommended so that we can move beyond nervous system discourse and theory to focus on deeper explorations together.
